Girls wearing fox tails, fiddling triplets, deep fried everything-- The Alaska State Fair!

We drove up to the fair grounds, the ferris wheel turning happily in the distance, my six year old nephew noticing this says seriously, 'Ferris wheels, my biggest fear.'

Our state fair may be small but it delivers!  Pumpkins the size of Brazil, a goat getting milked on a small stage (as soon as I took a picture of her she hung her head and looked away, poor girl), amazing people watching, elephant ears, pork on a stick, corn fritters with honey butter etc. to stuff your face with, rides, a ventriloquist with a tennis ball, (horrible) fair games that involve having your weight guessed, pig races...  Such fun!

Poor Anna feeling the effects of the Sizzler.
He adores his big brother.  Wouldn't take his eyes off watching him do the bumper cars.
Best family photo! Notice the face of the boy who thought he had just lost his lego man, he's trying to hold it together for the photo.
Fair hair is for everyone.
