Our Favourite Hot Dog Stand

I don't like hot dogs. The taste, the processedness... just isn't for me.  I married someone who feels the exact same way, so we were more than a little skeptical in trying out some at M.A.'s Hot Dog Stand even if they did come highly recommended.  Turns out these aren't your ordinary dogs.  They are gourmet and delicious.  Two weekends in a row we've found ourselves downtown, lining up for some more of these tasty reindeer dogs.  It's more than just the hot dogs themselves, it's the experience, the noise and life of the people walking, skating, driving, the sense of community as you sit on the steps of the Federal Building eating, sharing in something simple and honest with the French and German tourists next to you, the deaf couple signing to each other as they eat, enjoying the sunshine and people watching.  It's like this little hot dog stand just fills people's bellies with a dose of happy.

They even make mine in bite sized pieces without the bun.
M.A.'s was featured in last month's Martha Stewart's Living magazine.  Here's an interesting interview on the man behind the stand.

The rest of the photos are of us biking off the reindeer dogs.
