Last night while I slept here in England and dreamt happy dreams (I dreamt that I was playing a mouth-trumpet -- as in the sound of a trumpet with my mouth and was chosen to replace a real trumpeter in a band because I was
that good. I ecstatically played 'trumpet' for most the of night.), America was busily counting votes and celebrating the reelection of Obama!
Did you know that at the early Colonial New England presidential elections, a cake was made for the occasion?
The Hartford Election Cake was made to celebrate an election victory or help quell the appetites of hungry voters during the arduous voting day. We're missing out on this tradition!
Maybe instead of hating on each other's opinions or presidential preference, we should just all eat some cake!
We celebrated by going into town and picking up David's iPad. Now he'll have something to skype me on when we go back to doing our most favourite thing-- long distance!
I'm a little more easily pleased. New library books and I'm a happy girl.
Love reading your notes. Beryl xx
