Drink up on life. A life worth tasting and knowing its goodness. Why wait til the end when knees and backs are lacking in bend to mull over years lived without guts, without glory. What's the use of little notebooks filled with Bucket Lists or conversations that include the restricting phrase, 'one day when...' Dream of one days, but let now be a one day fulfilled. 'Grab the bull by the horns!' a favourite teacher would repeat over and over again to me, during an especially trying year in school. In the moment, she might of just been referring to the slobbering, stomping beast, Math, but now it means Everything.
Grab life.
Argue less. Laugh more. Let your heart be moved frequently. Allow time for street music and the homeless. Kiss deeply. Love your neighbour. Read more books, watch less TV. Listen to a child. Roam the wild--nothing but you, God, and nature. Forgive and moisturise daily. Make generosity your trademark. Grow your own garden. Ride public transport. Believe the best about people. Grow wrinkled with loved ones. Say I love you and mean it.
Esquire made a list of 75 things every man should do. (These work for us girls too.)
These are a few of my favourites.
Drive by yourself from coast to coast.
Leave yourself a letter in a library book. Look for it 20 years later.
Toboggan, aggressively.
Go to Paris. Tell no one where you are. Stay for two weeks.
