Checklist Task Master

flight of the concords
Today marks exactly one week till I fly home to Alaska to start carving out my new little life!  And that's all I'm going to say about that because if I even think about leaving David for an unknown time, my big girl panties that I've been managing (mostly) to keep pulled up tightly will start to sag and fall down around my ankles and I will momentarily become that girl who is found softly crying in the corner over some sappy Michael Buble song just because at one time it was playing when the two of us were in the car together.
So I've been keeping busy with a list of things to do in the next few days.  A friend wrote me today and asked, "How's the packing going?"  I replied, "I've mentally packed and it all went well."  I still haven't climbed the creaky, pull out stairs to the attic to retrieve my suitcases and actually pack.  She agreed with me that mental packing is always the best-- everything fits in perfectly and your suitcases are never overweight.  Mental flying is even better.  You never have to redistribute your belongings from one suitcase to the other while everyone watches as you clamber around on the floor, sweating, dropping tampons while your underwear acting as shoe stuffers spill out everywhere, you are always upgraded to first class, and when you arrive at your destination your makeup-less skin is dewy and youthful.  I really don't mind flying. In fact, I love how in just a matter of hours you can be on the other side of the world! But first! I must get packing!
